Today is the second class of our current four class set. We will have a speaking test on December 2nd. The test questions will be posted next week.
We will start class with a dialogue about a woman who is approached by a man while she is on a layover at an airport. Our reading material is by David Sedaris and touches on multiple themes including old age, house guests, and relationships.
The listening material is a TED Talk by architect Moshe Safdie and he shares his innovative designs for apartments. Please listen for this week vocabulary words while watching the listening material. Also, do not stress out about the reading material. Please read it once and after we discuss it in class you can read it again!

In 1967, Moshe Safdie reimagined the monolithic apartment building, creating "Habitat '67," which gave each unit an unprecedented sense of openness. Nearly 50 years later, he believes the need for this type of building is greater than ever. In this short talk, Safdie surveys a range of projects that do away with the high-rise and let light permeate into densely-packed cities.
