The phrase of the week is, "hinges on." This is another way of saying dependent on. For example, "My plans this weekend hinge on the weather."

Today's reading is about the value market for medical devices. Our listening material is about luck. Please be prepared to explain the vocabulary words. 

Vocabulary

• quantify- express or measure the quantity of.
• market system- A market economy is an economic system in which economic decisions and the pricing of goods and services are guided solely by the aggregate interactions of a country's individual citizens and businesses. There is little government intervention or central planning.
• expectations- a belief that someone will or should achieve something. OR a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.
• incarcerated- imprison or confine
