Today is the first class in your new September four class set. We will start class with a casual conversation. Our reading today is about stablecoin. Please read as much as you can. Highlight any words and phrases that are not familiar. I have also included some listening material. Please focus on time, not accuracy. Please listen to as much as you can, but you only have to listen once. We will review 5 vocabulary words. We are going to try to apply the words to everyday life.

Concur (verb) – to agree or have the same opinion.

The principal and the teachers concurred that the new policy would benefit students.

Feasible (adjective) – possible to do easily or conveniently.

It may not be feasible to finish the project in one day without help.

Candid (adjective) – honest and straightforward; sincere.

She gave a candid response about the challenges she faced.

Reluctant (adjective) – unwilling or hesitant.

He was reluctant to speak in front of the large crowd.

Pragmatic (adjective) – dealing with problems in a practical, realistic way.

The coach took a pragmatic approach to solving the team’s scheduling conflicts.
